Warpigs Out!
I met Andy Warpigs at The Rogue Bar in Scottsdale, AZ sometime 2014/2015. This guitar player was rocking out so hard the guitar strap came loose. I lept on stage, pulled the strap around & fastened it. It was Andy who would pat me on the back as I jumped back down into the crowd nodding & smiling. At that moment, I had no idea this individual would end up becoming one of the most interesting biological entities I have ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with. A friendly face in a bar full of strangers.
We got to talking. Andy had chosen Timothy Leary for a Facebook name back then. Told me to look it up & send a friend request. So that’s what I did. Not long after that, we shared stages at The Rogue Bar, The Trunk Space (original location), Firehouse & downtown art parties thrown by our mutual partner in crime, Joe “Dagger Pan” Sawinski.
One of my favorite jam sessions I have ever had in my life was with both Andy & Joe at The Fountain Space, the name of Joe’s house on West Pierce, down the block from Grand Avenue Brewing Company. I was on drums, Andy the bass, Joe on guitar. It is times like this I wish we just recorded something on a phone. It was noisey, groovy, jazzy, punk, new wave, tribal, all at once. Loud as fuck.
We once joined a cult in Miami, AZ during the Miami Loco Art & Music Festival one year. We had to put stickers on our head in order to receive an offering of mushrooms. I am glad that my final memory of you is when you & Dadadoh walked into Chopper John’s that night while I Am Hologram was performing. I hadn’t seen you in over a year or two. While on stage I told the crowd “some of you may not know these names but you should. Andy Warpigs & Dadadoh ARE Phoenix art & it was an honor they wer both in the building”. Big applause for them. I thanked you for doing all that you do for the art of self expression. You will be missed Andy!

Shut The Fuck Up is my favorite song by Andy Warpigs. I remember watching Andy play this on ukelele at The Trunk Space. Everyone knew the song but me. Within a few moments, I caught on to the lyrics.
