When We Met Reimagines New Order's Classic "Bizarre Love Triangle"
PORTLAND, OR – Portland indie duo When We Met unveil a moody, atmospheric reimagining of the beloved 1980s dance anthem "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order. Scheduled for release this April, the single showcases the band's evolution from alternative and indie rock origins toward a darker, psych-goth and indie-folk influenced soundscape.
Formed from a chance encounter at a concert, Bryan Casey (vocals, guitar, production) and Melissa Dorres (vocals, bass, stand-up bass) bonded instantly over shared musical aspirations, quickly becoming inseparable collaborators. Over the last decade, they've continually refined their sound, drawing inspiration from influences like Pinback, Ween, The Kills, and Built to Spill.
"Bizarre Love Triangle" was recorded partly in the duo's home studio and completed at Portland’s renowned Jackpot! Recording Studio, with acclaimed producer Larry Crane (known for his work with Elliott Smith, Stephen Malkmus, Death Cab for Cutie, and Sleater-Kinney).

Following this single, fans can anticipate a full-length album exploring similar sonic territory, slated for release later this summer.
"We’re deeply grateful to our fans who’ve supported us from local dive bars to festival main stages," says the band. "Your continued love means everything, and we can't wait to share our latest work with you."
To celebrate their new music, When We Met will perform at Firkin Tavern in Portland on May 24, joined by touring Arizona act I Am Hologram and Portland's own dynamic one-man-band, It&i.
