Carol Pacey & The Honey Shakers Bring Optimism with New Single "Lucky You"

TEMPE, AZ – Carol Pacey & The Honey Shakers, the high-energy Americana-thrash-pop outfit known for their infectious sound and dynamic performances, are back with their latest single, Lucky You. A song born from the bittersweet experience of spending too many holidays alone—specifically, New Year’s EveLucky You turns loneliness into hope, celebrating the belief that love will always find its way.

"Yes, it doesn’t feel good to be alone on the holidays, but the day after is a regular day. Hold on and keep trying because love will happen," says frontwoman Carol Pacey. The track captures everything fans have come to love about the band—big vocals, jangly guitars, and unstoppable energy designed to get "your honey shaking."

Describing the band's sound is no easy task, but Pacey embraces the challenge. "Whenever we submit music for distribution, we have to pick who we sound like, and I never know who to choose. Maybe The Refreshments for the fun, Mexico-inspired good times? Maybe The Pixies for the acoustic-driven energy? Maybe No Doubt for the high-energy shows? Honestly, we just play what we want!"

Their latest performances, including a standout show at The Marquee Theater opening for Cowboy Mouth, have reinforced their impact on fans. Pacey recalls meeting young fans at the stage barrier, taking selfies, and sharing a true "rock star moment" that left a lasting impression. "It made my night!" she says.

Beyond the music, Carol Pacey & The Honey Shakers pride themselves on being a band of great people first, great musicians second. "When we bring new people into the band, they have to be awesome. Not just as musicians, but as people. Take care of your instrument, practice a little, show up to gigs, have fun, and be awesome—that’s the requirement." Pacey also shares a bit of her personal world: "I love dogs and little kids a lot. If I could make a living only playing with both, I totally would!"

As the band continues its journey, they remain deeply thankful for the support of their fans and the Arizona music community. "Whenever our friends and family show up at our shows, it changes everything. We can’t thank them enough for being a part of this ride with us."

Fans can experience Carol Pacey & The Honey Shakers live at the first annual Holopalooza Music Festival on March 15th at Linger Longer Lounge in Phoenix, Arizona. Their AZcoustic duo setup—Carol on lead vocals and Andy Borunda on guitar—will bring a fresh, intimate take on their signature high-energy sound. And yes, Lucky You will be on the setlist, holiday song or not!

"We very much love I Am Hologram, who is putting on the festival, so when given a chance to work with him, we are taking it!" Pacey shares. "It’s not every day you get to be first at something, so to be part of the very first Holopalooza, that is very special."

While this will be a stripped-down duo performance, fans can still expect the same electrifying presence. "We bring almost the same energy and good time to AZcoustic shows that we do to a full-band show. And yes, Lucky You will be in the set list! We don’t care that it is a holiday song, we play what we want when we want!"
